DDU decision provides dental cosmetic sales boost
Sales of medical cosmetic medical supplies to dentists could be set for a boost following a landmark decision by the Dental Defence Union (DDU).
Head of the DDU Rupert Hoppenbrouwers explains that dentistry now has "a greater emphasis on improving the aesthetic appearance of the teeth and face", but many practitioners have been reluctant because of the cost of indemnity cover.
However, those in medical sales business development jobs have received a boost from the DDU, which has introduced a supplement for members previously not willing to fork out for indemnity insurance for the procedures.
Mr Hoppenbrouwers told Dentistry.co.uk: "I am delighted, on behalf of the DDU, to be able to offer this insurance in response to members' requests and in the interests of patients."
Insurance sales jobs employees are also likely to see an increase in dentist practitioner business, but it is those in medical product sales jobs that will no doubt be the real winners.
