Improved VoIP phones on the horizon
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) for mobiles is "coming now", according to the Internet Telephony Services Providers' Association (ITSPA).
Set to be one in the pipeline for business development managers in retail sales jobs, VoIP through mobiles will allow business leaders to make cheap calls while on the move.
Research from T-Mobile published last month found that 60 per cent of small business decision-makers spend five hours out of the office every week.
ITSPA member and chief executive of VoIPfone Colin Duffy claimed that the technology is making a slow appearance because mobile network operators have been keen to stop it becoming a dominant force.
He added: "As long a mobile phone companies are ripping people off with the cost of a mobile phone, there will always be the opportunity for new technologies to have a go."
Sales jobs employees should have little problem convincing consumers of the benefits when the new technology finally makes a widespread appearance.
The T-Mobile research also found that 42 per cent of small businesses believe they pay too much for their mobile communications.
