Sales jobs: Youth roles receive boost from major companies
The government has revealed that major companies are offering further support to sales jobs for young people, with firms including Royal Mail, Microsoft, Pfizer, Phones4U, Centrica and Morrisons all providing opportunities.
Supermarket giant Morrisons was among the most generous, offering 5,000 apprenticeships and new training for all staff under the age of 25.
Speaking at a Backing Britain's Youth summit in Birmingham, Gordon Brown said: "Together we can create thousands of opportunities for young people and ensure that the next generation gets its foot on the career ladder."
The prime minister defended the decision to focus new sales jobs on young people, saying that they are most at risk during the recession, while recognising that everyone is suffering in the present downturn.
Chris Morrall, recruitment management specialist at Talent Transitions, recently said that companies should consider graduate recruits for sales jobs because they bring new skills to a firm and he also criticised BT's decision to cut its graduate scheme.
Aaron Wallis is a specialist marketing and sales recruitment agency that offers graduate sales jobs across a wide range of industry sectors. For employers, Aaron Wallis offers a unique graduate recruitment service that is backed by a 12-month rebate period.
