Sales recruitment: Retail roles boosted by supermarket
People looking for retail sales jobs should have more options open to them during the festive period thanks to an influx of roles which Britain's supermarkets are planning to make available this December.
Morrisons is the supermarket at the forefront of the new vacancies, after it announced half-year profits of £449 million and committed to creating new seasonal roles, along with Asda and Sainsbury's.
The supermarket has managed to add more than one million shoppers over the last two years and recently announced it is to create more apprenticeship positions at its stores.
Marc Bolland, chief executive of the Bradford-based retailer, said: "This has been an excellent first-half performance from Morrisons, continuing our run of market beating sales growth."
In other retail sales jobs news, Sainsbury's recently announced it plans to create 20,000 retail jobs over the festive period, with Asda saying it will add an extra 10,000 staff to its team of seasonal workers.
